There is no better comfort than having a hot water shower when the temperature is dipping lower and lower with each passing day. Well, as the winter arrives, we start hating cold showers and getting cold water running from your shower is the last thing you want early in the morning. If your hot water system is not functioning, you must feel stressed. If you haven’t paid attention to the hot water system, like most of the homeowners, it is time that you know what can be the reasons that you are not getting hot and comforting water from the shower.
A typical electric hot water system is comprised of a cylindrical tank that has several electronic elements that heat the water stored in the tank. The tank is insulated which means that the hot water inside would remain hot for long durations. Any of the elements, even if the insulation of the water tank is poor or not functioning well, it can cause heating problems such as running out of hot water.
It is a common problem as we may at times run out of water pressure. There are many reasons for low water pressure in the house:
- Partially closed valves
- Failing pressure regulator
- A hard to detect the leak
- An outdated or faulty system that needs to be replaced
